Lauded for her “Elegance, commitment, technical perfection [and] expressiveness” (Diapason), German cellist Raphaela Gromes has garnered prestigious accolades such as the OPUS Klassik, Diapason d’Or and German Record Critics’ Award for her CD albums, and has performed on leading stages of the world including the Vienna Konzerthaus, Tonhalle Zürich, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Hamburg Elbphilharmonie etc. She makes her Hong Kong début playing Dvořák’s brilliantly captivating Cello Concerto with Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Music Director Christoph Poppen, closing a concert of which the first half will feature a fascinating juxtaposition of winds and strings through the colourful works of Richard Strauss, Giacinto Scelsi and Mozart.
